When you purchase airtime or data through Mama Money, you would normally receive an SMS confirming your purchase. Sometimes this SMS may be delayed or may not arrive at all — but this does not always mean your purchase failed.
Before contacting our support team, please check the following:
Step 1 — Check your transaction history on the Mama Money app:
- Open the Mama Money app on your phone
- Go to your transaction history
- Find the airtime or data purchase in question
- If the transaction shows as successful, your purchase has gone through, even if the SMS has not arrived
Step 2 — Check if the airtime or data has already loaded:
- Check your phone's airtime or data balance directly with your network provider
- Dial your network's balance check code, or check your network provider's app
- If the airtime or data has already loaded, your purchase was successful, and you do not need to take any further action
Step 3 — Check your phone's signal and SMS inbox:
- Make sure your phone has a network signal
- Check that your SMS inbox is not full — a full inbox can prevent new messages from coming through
- Allow a few minutes, as SMS messages can sometimes be delayed by your network provider

If the Issue Continues — What We Need From You
If you have checked your transaction history and your airtime or data balance, and you are still unsure whether your purchase was successful, please contact us with the following information ready:
- Your Mama Money registered phone number
- The date the purchase was made
- The amount of the airtime or data purchased
- The mobile number, the airtime or data was purchased for (if different from your registered number)
