Did you send an EFT from your Mama Money Card, and has it not yet reflected in the recipient's account? Here is what you need to know.
How Long Does an EFT Out Take?
EFT out payments from your Mama Money Card typically clear within 24 to 48 hours. Please note that weekends and public holidays are not counted as part of this processing time.
For example:
- EFT sent on Monday → may only reflect by Wednesday
- EFT sent on Friday → may only reflect by Tuesday the following week
- EFT sent on a public holiday → processing only begins the next working day
Please do not panic if the funds have not reflected within this timeframe — this is completely normal for EFT transfers.
What to Check Before Contacting Us
Before reaching out to our support team, please check the following:
Step 1 — Confirm the transaction was successful:
- Open the Mama Money app
- Go to your transaction history
- Check that the EFT Out shows as successful
Step 2 — Check the recipient's bank account:
- Ask the recipient to check all of their bank accounts — not just one
- Sometimes funds may reflect in a different account type than expected
Step 3 — Wait for the full processing time:
- Make sure the full 24 to 48 hours have passed before assuming there is a delay
- Remember that weekends and public holidays are excluded from this timeframe
Step 4 — Double-check the bank details used:
- Confirm that the account number, bank name, and branch code entered were correct
- Even a small mistake in these details can cause the payment to be delayed
If the EFT Out Is Still Delayed — What We Need From You
If you have waited the full 24 to 48 hours (excluding weekends and public holidays) and the funds have still not reflected, please contact us with the following information ready:
- Your Mama Money registered phone number
- The amount and date sent
The recipient's bank statement for further investigation.
Once our team receives your information, we will investigate the delayed EFT out.This may require confirmation from the receiving bank, so please allow some time for the investigation.
