Common Reasons Why Funds May Appear Missing:
- The payment may still be processing on the recipient's bank side
- The recipient's bank account details may have been entered incorrectly
- There may be a delay with the receiving bank, especially over weekends or public holidays
- The recipient's bank may require additional time to reflect incoming international or local payments
Before reaching out to our support team, please check the following with your recipient: - Step 1 — Confirm the recipient checked the correct account:
- Ask your recipient to check all of their bank accounts, not just one — sometimes money is sent to a different account type by mistake
- Step 2 — Confirm the bank details used:
- Double-check the account number, bank name, and branch code that were used when you sent the money
- Compare this to your recipient's actual bank details to make sure there was no mistake
- Step 3 — Allow enough time for the payment to reflect:
- Bank transfers can take time to reflect, especially over weekends and public holidays
- Ask your recipient to check again after 24 to 48 hours before assuming the funds are missing
- Step 4 — Check your Mama Money transaction history:
- Open the Mama Money app
- Go to your transaction history
- Confirm that the transaction shows as successful
