Have you made a payment to Mama Money through your bank? Here is everything you need to know about how long it takes and what to expect.
The time it takes for your payment to arrive depends on which bank you are using. Please do not panic if you do not see the money straight away — this is completely normal for bank transfers.
- Capitec Bank — payments may take up to 48 hours (2 working days) to reflect on your Mama Money account
- All other banks — payments may take up to 24 hours (1 working day) to reflect, depending on your bank
Please note that weekends and public holidays are not counted as part of the processing time. For example:
- Payment made on Friday → may only reflect by Monday or Tuesday
- Payment made on a public holiday → processing only begins the next working day
Before reaching out to the support team, please follow these steps:
Check your Mama Money wallet balance:
- Open the Mama Money app on your phone
- Look at your wallet balance on the home screen
- If the money is showing in your wallet, your payment has been received, and you can recreate a new order and make the wallet your method of payment.
- If the money is not yet showing, it may still be processing. Check again after the full processing time has passed
NB: If you used the wrong reference for your payment — for example, missed a digit, used an old number, or entered a name instead of your registered number — please have your proof of payment ready as a PDF when you contact us.
