Did you make a mistake on the name when sending money through Mama Cashout? Don't worry — here is everything you need to know about what we can fix and what needs to be cancelled.
What Can Be Fixed Without Cancelling?
Not every name mistake means your order needs to be cancelled. Here is what we can correct quickly and easily:
Small spelling mistakes in the first name or last name:
- We can fix spelling mistakes as long as fewer than 2 letters are wrong
- For example, if the name is "Thabo" but was typed as "Thaabo" — this can be corrected
- If more than 2 letters are incorrect, the order will need to be cancelled and replaced
Middle name changes:
- We can add or remove a middle name on your order as soon as you reach out to us
- Simply contact the Mama Money support team, and we will sort this out for you straight away
When Will the Order Need to Be Cancelled?
There are some name mistakes that, unfortunately, cannot be corrected and will require a full cancellation of the order. These include:
- More than 2 letters are incorrect in the first name or last name
- The first name and last name have been swapped — for example, if the recipient's name is John Smith, but it was entered as Smith John
- You want to change the person receiving the funds entirely — if you sent money to the wrong person, the order will need to be cancelled and a new one placed
If you need to cancel a cash-out, you can do it quickly via WhatsApp or directly in the app: Via WhatsApp (+27 60 091 5591):
- Send "Hi" to our WhatsApp number.
- Reply with 2 for "Send Money".
- Reply with 4 for "Track Order".
- Select 1 to confirm the cancellation.
These steps are also available in the application. Please create a new order with the correct details once you have successfully cancelled. Use the same Rand amount and select Wallet as your payment method.
