Common Reasons Why You May Be Experiencing a USSD Issue
There are several reasons why you may be experiencing this issue. Please work through each one carefully:
Reason 1 — Network Error
- There may be a temporary network error with your mobile provider
- This can cause the USSD session to drop or fail to connect
What to do:
- Wait a few minutes and try again
- Make sure you have a good network signal on your phone
- Try moving to an area with better network coverage and try again
Reason 2 — You Already Have an Open Order
- If you are trying to create a new order, but you already have an open or unpaid order on your account, the system will not allow you to create another one
What to do:
- Check your existing orders and confirm whether you have an open or unpaid order
- Cancel the existing open order before trying to create a new one
- Once the open order has been cancelled, try again
Reason 3 — You Have Reached the Maximum Number of Recipients
- You can only have a maximum of 8 recipients saved on your Mama Money account at any one time
- If you already have 8 recipients and you are trying to add a new one, the system will not allow it
What to do:
- Go to your recipients list
- Remove at least one recipient that you no longer need
- Once a recipient has been removed, try adding the new recipient again
Reason 4 — You Are Trying to Send Above the Daily Limit
- Mama Money has a daily sending limit of R25,000
- If the amount you are trying to send would take you over the R25,000 daily limit, the transaction will fail
What to do:
- Check the total amount you have already sent today
- Make sure the amount you are trying to send does not exceed R25,000 for the day/ or month
- If you have already reached your daily limit, please wait until the following day to send again
